Patrick 2010

In 2010, our staff had already selected the designated number of students for sponsorship that year. However, they strongly encouraged the board to make room for one additional student, Oryem Patrick, believing he showed exceptional promise for the future. With approval from the ChildrenUP Board of Directors, Patrick was added to the roster.

Patrick went on to successfully complete six years of secondary education. He attended Gulu High School for four years at the ordinary level before continuing to St. Joseph’s College Layibi, where he completed two years of advanced-level studies. He was later accepted into a two-year Computer Science program at Gulu University. Shortly afterward, the government awarded him a scholarship that allowed him to pursue a full degree in Computer Science.

Patrick also completed an internship with the Uganda Revenue Authority.

Over the years, Patrick has remained actively involved with ChildrenUP and continues to be a proud returning participant at our annual meetings. 

He currently does part time and private work.
