Jimmy - 2010

Jimmy joined ChildrenUP in 2010 and attended St. Joseph’s College Layibi for his ordinary level secondary education before completing two years of advanced level studies at Our Lady of Africa Secondary School. In 2017, he was admitted to Uganda Technical College–Lira, where he completed a two-year program and earned a National Diploma in Water Engineering. He graduated at the top of his class and later completed an internship with the National Water and Sewerage Corporation in Gulu.

In 2020, Jimmy received a scholarship to study at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was initially unable to obtain a visa to travel to the United States, so he began his studies online from Uganda. After pandemic restrictions eased, he traveled to the U.S., where he completed both a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Transportation and Highway Engineering. He currently works as a Transportation Engineer in the United States.
